Before this weekend’s British Grand Prix there will be a few blogs looking back at classic British Grand Prix’s.

The 2003 race was a thriller, lots of action and in the end a truly great drive from Rubens Barrichello gave him the victory.

Barrichello started on pole but got a poor start and both Trulli and Raikkonen jumped him into turn 1,Rubens dropped down to 3rd place with Ralf 4th and Michael 5th.

Then David Coulthard had a scary moment, his headrest came off his car and went flying backwards onto the track which brought out the Safety Car.

The Safety Car pulled in quite quickly and soon Barrichello got past Kimi at abbey to take 2nd place, behind leader Trulli.

Then on Lap 12,Irish priest Neil Horan ran onto the track, luckily the cars managed to avoid him,a brave marshall then came on and tackled him to the ground and the Safety Car came out again, most cars pitted including Kimi and Rubens.

The Safety Car pulled in and the 2 Toyota’s led away, both had not pitted, from Coulthard,Trulli,Raikkonen,Ralf,Firman and Barrichello.

Kimi straight away nailed Trulli into turn 1 and then passed teammate Coulthard at Copse to take 3rd place and on the next lap passed Panis into turn 1 to take 2nd place behind leader Da Matta.Rubens then also went on a charge,he passed Ralf  and Trulli to move into 2nd place, behind leader Raikkonen after both Toyota’s had pitted.

Barrichello then started to close in on Raikkonen, setting fastest laps,Kimi then pitted which gave Rubens the lead, despite setting very fast laps Rubens came out behind Kimi on Lap 39 after the Brazilian had pitted.

Three laps later though Barrichello got past Raikkonen,he forced Kimi into running wide at copse which meant Rubens had the momentum into Bridge and he passed Kimi there to take the lead of the race,Rubens then quickly pulled away.

Montoya who had a very good race, jumped passed Trulli to take 3rd place in the race and was gifted 2nd place when Kimi ran wide on Lap 49.Michael came home in 4th place after passing Trulli after been 14th at one stage in the race due to cueing in the pitlane and made a great charge back through the field

Coulthard pipped Trulli to 5th place after overtaking him with 2 laps to go,Trulli came home a disappointing 6th,Da Matta 7th and Button 8th,after starting at the back of the grid.
